East Cape Health Center

The early years of 2000 allowed us to see what it was like to live in a small community and face one of the biggest challenges: The local health department's response to an Emergency. Who to call? is there an emergency number? is there even an emergency-trained team? The answers to these questions can change your life!
That is how the East Cape Health Center started, back in 2013, thanks to our founder and CEO Charlene Wenger's vision, a founder member of Los Barriles Rotary Club.
Her vision of creating a health center where local families could have affordable health care of quality, and even sometimes at non-cost, has led her to constantly improve and add new services to the already wide list of services that the East Capes Health Center offers.
From EKG and X-ray to full lab equipment, and multiple specialists coming for consultations during the month, now locals don't need to leave our town to have access to quality health care.
We care about emergency calls! With a doctor on call for emergencies, patients are taken to our clinic for stabilizing and then they are taken to the hospital of their choice, we can also provide transportation in our new ambulance.
Thanks to the support we receive from ex-pats and tourists who use and recommend our services, we have been able to help the most vulnerable members of our community throughout the years, especially children.

La Ribera
And now, we are looking to expand our clinic to La Ribera, so we can provide some of these services over there, and we can be closer to those families who need us the most, overall, we are the East Cape Health Center.

With your help, we'll be able to open a new satellite clinic in La Ribera and provide medical attention to people in even more isolated communities including Santa Cruz, Los Frailes, Cabo Pulmo, Las Cuevas among others.
A kind donor who is familiarized with the work we've been doing for the last 20 years, has a building available for us to use! The donations we are requesting today, are going to help us to adapt the workspace and turn it into a medical office, which will include a lab draw station and a pharmacy with hard-to-find medications.
Would you consider donating to help us achieve our mission?
